Update with a message from Lisa
We are eternally grateful to have Lisa back home after her huge operation last week. We are so thankful to each of you for your ongoing prayers and support to us as a family. We have been carried along by the prayers of saints. We love you all.
At the start of our journey, we believe that God had told us that we would have a very difficult journey, but… He would bring us through and this would not be the end for us!
Those words have been a great comfort to us all. Truth is we know people who have lost loved ones this year and we know how blessed we are. We are thankful for each day.
Lisa had her surgery last Thursday. She was worked on for over 8 and a half hours as they worked to remove the two tumours. She lost a lot of blood and need to be given blood as they worked but that eventually calmed. Part of one of the tumours was wrapped around one of her main artery veins and had stopped it functioning. This part had to be left behind as it could give her a large stroke to touch it. We had agreed to that in advance.
The rest was removed fully and miraculously. The surgeon was amazing and did an awesome job.
She came through without any complications and is very much in one piece. No damage to her brain!
After 6 days of observation in hospital she has been sent home to rest with the family.
I can confirm she is being pampered and looked after by the whole family. It’s our pleasure!
She is fragile, in lots of pain, she can hardly sleep and it may take a long time to recover. Half her hair was removed but!!!!
She will recover!
These things will pass!
That is no small thing!
We get to keep our precious Lisa.
In a matter of months she will be living her life normally. She has a desire to get more involved with our mission work in Kenya and hope to visit this year with our whole family!
Other fantastic news is that the tumour was tested and came back as grade 1!
That means no cancer!
And also it is incredibly unlikely to grow back.
She will be monitored regularly with MRI scans and if it doesn’t grow back it will be zapped with radio therapy and should not need further surgery.
Lisa has been on an incredible journey with God throughout this, and it continues through recovery.
She has so much to write and share but now is not the time,
Lisa would however like to say this.
"I am eternally grateful and thankful to every person who has sent well wishes and support.
For every person who has prayed and interceded for me over the last few months for myself and my family. I have been overwhelmed by the love and support of others."
"We have had a turbulent 6 months to say the least. God has spoken many things to my heart these last few months. He said ‘He will bring us through this’ and ‘although it will be hard to keep our eyes focused on Him and His goodness’. "
"He has also been showing me the power in and the depths that I can go to with the attitude of Thank fullness.
To be thankful in all things, not just the blessings in life but the challenges in life too.
1 Thessalonians 5:18"
All our love and blessings
Steve Lisa and family.
