In 2008 God spoke to Steve Pilkington and said “If you will go to Romania and pray to me for 7 days, I will speak to you at the end of that time”. The next day He was approached by a lady in church who said God had told her to buy a ticket for Steve to travel to Romania. She knew exactly where he was to go.
Needless to say He went in obedience, and at the end of that time God spoke more clearly than ever before or after. The whole vision for Hope was downloaded at this time, and a new lifestyle was born within him.
Later on another occasion God said “Never give up Hope” Steve knew this meant that this new lifestyle of prayer was to be the engine room to every activity from that day forward. Although the House of Prayer meetings are the least noticeable part of the ministry, nothing else happens unless it first comes from that place of intimacy. Every invite is taken to God in that place of prayer and it is only when His plans are clear that any other plans are made.
Waiting on God is the birthplace of fruitfulness
Walking closely with the Holy Spirit is made possible by a lifestyle of prayer
When fruitfulness comes, instead of getting busy and praying less we should pray more and see fruitfulness explode.
Two foundational scriptures given for the House of Prayer are.
7 Even those I will bring to My holy mountain And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”
17 And He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a robbers’ den.”
Why should we seek God above all else including ministry
For His sake - because we love Him
Because He is our Father and we have permanent access to Him. He made us to be in perfect relationship with Him, and when we engage in that perfect Love, ministry just unfolds before us in His great plan.
4 One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.
Therefore to praise Him for who He is, is a major part of House of prayer. When you know who God really is, and start to learn about who you really are in Him. Nothing is impossible.
2 Chronicles 5:13
13 in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the Lord saying, “He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud.
House of Prayer is for those who want to live in the cloud
15 Then Moses went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. 16 The glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days; and on the seventh day He called to Moses from the midst of the cloud. 17 And to the eyes of the sons of Israel the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the mountain top. 18 Moses entered the midst of the cloud as he went up to the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
It is for the cloud seeker. Those who are given to being in Gods presence.
To resting in the cloud
But also to holiness and to being willing to be in His consuming fire
O God of burning cleansing flame
Send the fire
Your blood-bought gift today we claim
Send the fire today
Look down and see this waiting host
And send the promised Holy Ghost
We need another Pentecost
Send the fire today
What happens when we seek him?
In the mean time and perhaps more importantly
Personal revival - to everyone - every time
The sheikinah glory falls
2 Chronicles 7:1-3
1 Now when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the house. 2 The priests could not enter into the house of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled the Lord’s house. 3 All the sons of Israel, seeing the fire come down and the glory of the Lord upon the house, bowed down on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave praise to the Lord, saying, “Truly He is good, truly His loving kindness is everlasting.”
Also the gifts increase
Especially the prophetic
Prophesy is a major part of these meetings, when you wait on God long enough God speaks. Those who are given to the place of prayer become watchmen on Gods walls, listening to father and warning the people.
“For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established. That is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.”
To the believers there can be no substitute for fellowship - for a base where you both impart faith and gifts in establishing others. And also where you can have faith and gifts imparted to you. Never feel you have nothing to gain from the rest of the body, don’t be so content in your own ministry that you lose your hunger to be ministered to.
Find a good fellowship that loves and encourages you. Just be there, and be mutually encouraged by one another.
Pour out - give away, what God has given to you and receive through others what God has given them.
How much more will we benefit from this in an environment where we have no duty to follow an order of service and have sufficient time to step aside and wait on God together.
6 On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;
Ultimately or the end goal - we believe Revival
2 chronicles 7:14
14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
What does God promise?
2 Chronicles 7:15-16
“Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. 16 “For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that My name may be there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually
